Is it safe to have surgery in Mexico?
Yes. A fully equipped private hospital, a board-certified surgeon, and the same laser platform used in leading US centers.
How do I cross the border?
Cross the Gateway International Bridge from Brownsville; the clinic is about 10 minutes away. You only need a valid US passport or passport card.
How many days will I be away?
Plan for about 36 to 48 hours: studies and surgery happen the same day, with discharge the next day.
What anesthesia is used?
Spinal or general, chosen by the anesthesiologist after evaluating you. Included in your package.
Will my US insurance or HSA cover it?
US insurance usually does not apply, but you get an itemized receipt and many patients use HSA or FSA funds.
How long is recovery?

Will it affect my sexual function?

In the rare event of an unpredictable complication (for example a blood transfusion, under 1% likelihood given HoLEP's laser cauterization, or prolonged intensive care for uncontrolled pre-existing conditions), any additional specialized hospital resources or outside medical fees are not covered by the package price.

Catheter removal and discharge timing depend on your individual recovery. In some cases the doctor may recommend keeping the catheter a few extra days for optimal healing. This does not mean a longer hospital stay: you are discharged to recover at home either way.
